Repare que a maior maré do Brasil, numa das foz do Amazonas, está espremida entre o Amapá e a Ilha de Marajó. A maior maré do planeta é a Baía de Fundy, entre as províncias da Nova Escócia e New Brunswick, no Canadá. Tem lugar que dá mais de 300 m de praia na maré baixa.
