Houve antes um terremoto de 8 graus no mar afastado ao sul da Costa Sul da Ilha do Sul. Me chama atenção o tamanho dessa lacuna sísmica no centro da Ilha do Sul. Não houve nenhum terremoto de mais de 6 graus nos últimos 116 anos e com esse movimento de hoje a pressão n'essa área, que aparenta estar bem sólida, aumenta bastante e deve ter um terremoto muito poderoso no futuro. Aparentemente as ondas se propagaram no sentido Norte-Sul ou Noroeste-Sudeste. Diferente do terremoto de 2011. O que pode indicar uma acomodação de diferentes níveis da placa tectônica ou o rompimento de alguma falha. Geralmente as deformações de superfície são mais acentuadas n'essas regiões. A magnitudedo terremoto foi revisada pra M7.0 e a profundidade foi revisada pra 10.3 km. Já imaginava um tremor mais forte e seguindo o histórico de movimentos telúricos no Chile não descartaria nem um grande terremoto nos próximos dias.
