Gerson Ibias Posted February 9, 2012 at 09:21 PM Share Posted February 9, 2012 at 09:21 PM (edited) A neve voltou a Londres depois de 5 dias. Comecou a cair a 2hrs atras(7pm) e, embora forte, nao estava acumulando no chao. Gerson Ibias Posted February 10, 2012 at 09:28 PM Share Posted February 10, 2012 at 09:28 PM Europe shivers while snow hits Sahara desert for first time in 30 years Europe remains on red alert as forecasters predict the big chill is set to carry on into next week, with more snow and rain to come - as the Sahara desert experienced snowfall for the first time since the early 1980s. Weather analysts say it is one of the bitterest spells of weather to hit the continent in decades, a pattern which looks set to continue until the end of the month. 'We do have higher confidence in a change by mid-February, but not to milder weather,' said weather expert Leon Brown. 'February will probably remain a cold month right to the end.' The low pressure area is so strong that, for the first time in 30 years, snow has fallen as far south as Mali and the Sahara in north Africa. In many European capitals, authorities have set up shelters for the homeless to help them survive the cold that has seen temperatures sink to -36C (-33F) overnight. In Italy more than 60,000 residents in Milan were left without power as pipes burst in the below freezing conditions. The death toll across Europe rose to 460 this week as the cold weather tightened its grip across the continent.
