O Irene já está a poucos quilômetros da Costa da Flórida. Olhando a imagem de satélite, nem parece que ele vai desviar... :-o Incrível como é grande a área que ele atinge ao redor. D'Aleo chamaram muito a atenção desde fevereiro/maio deste ano em vários artigos sobre o risco da costa leste, especialmente a Nova Inglaterra ser atingida nesta temporada, sempre utilizandoa análogos e correlações. Eis uma interessante La Nina + AMO (atlântico) quente : "In La Nina summers with a warm AMO, east coast landfalls were impressive. You can see La Nina years when the Atlantic is warm produced 15 landfalling east coast storms in 9 years, 11 were major hurricanes, 9 affecting the northeast directly on second or third landfall." O furacão, que já tem um olho muito bem definido, até o momento não apresenta uma rota de colisão com o leste dos Estados Unidos, e até poderia perder intensidade ao encontrar muita umidade jogada pela tempestade tropical Lee, que provoca muita chuva no sul do país neste domingo, além da corrente de jato que pode desestabilizá-lo na sequência..
