NHC AGORA ESTÁ MONITORANDO UMA ÁREA DE BAIXA PRESSÃO NÃO TROPICAL PARA POSSÍVEL DESENVOLVIMENTO EM CICLONE SUBTROPICAL NO ATLÂNTICO NORTE.

NO MOMENTO HÁ 20% DE CHANCES DISSO OCORRER. MODELOS INDICAM A BAIXA INDO EM DIREÇÃO A PORTUGAL NO FINAL DE SEMANA.

3. A non-tropical area of low pressure is located over the far
northeastern Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles northeast of the
Azores. This system is forecast to move south-southeastward during
the next few days where it will encounter warmer oceanic
temperatures, which could allow the low to gradually acquire some
tropical or subtropical characteristics this week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

COM ISSO AGORA TEMOS 4 SISTEMAS TROPICAIS ATIVOS E MAIS 3 DISTÚRBIOS NO ATLÂNTICO NORTE.

ORGANIZAÇÃO MUNDIAL DE METEOROLOGIA PUBLICA ARTIGO EXPLICANDO QUE EM CASO DE APOSENTADORIA DE LETRA GREGA, A MESMA SERÁ INCLUÍDA NA LISTA DE APOSENTADORIAS COM O ANO DA OCORRÊNCIA, MAS QUE A MESMA LETRA GREGA SERÁ USADA EM TEMPORADAS FUTURAS, NÃO A RETIRANDO DO ALFABETO GREGO, CASO SE FAÇA NECESSÁRIO USAR NOVAMENTE.

https://public.wmo.int/en/media/news/active-2020-hurricane-season-exhausts-regular-list-of-names

The Committee felt that the use of the Greek Alphabet was not expected to be frequent enough to warrant any change in the existing naming procedure for the foreseeable future and therefore decided that the naming system would remain unchanged and that the Greek alphabet would continue to be used.

In this connection, the Committee also agreed that it was not practical to “retire into hurricane history” a letter in the Greek Alphabet. It therefore decided that if a significant storm designated by a letter of the Greek Alphabet, in either the Atlantic or eastern North Pacific Basin, was considered worthy of being “retired”, it would be included in the list of retired names with the year of occurrence and other details, but that the particular letter in the Greek Alphabet would continue to be available for use in the future”.
