O que significa Inst, Max e Min nas estações meteorológicas?

Boa tarde a todos.
Sou novato aqui no fórum e leigo em meteorologia, porém interessado na área.
Eu estava olhando os dados gerados pelas estações meteorológicas (http://www.inmet.gov.br/portal/index.php?r=estacoes/estacoesautomaticas) e percebi que na temperatura há três valores para o mesmo horário: Inst, Max e Min.
Porque há três e não apenas um valor e qual a diferença entre eles?
